My Own Angel option:
Successfully complete story mode to unlock the “My Own Angel” option. This
allows you to fight against other Angels from story mode with your own custom
Angel.

Link Battle option:
Successfully complete the game to unlock an option to use your Angel to battle
against another Angel on another Game Boy Advance with a link cable.
